Puerto Vallarta Weather Silky white beaches, sparkling azure waters and an abundance of sunshine draw tourists to Puerto Vallarta year-round. Although the area receives temperate weather throughout the year, the best time to visit is generally during the dry season lasting from late October through May. During these months the weather is pleasantly warm with cool nights and little rainfall and humidity. Temperatures rise slightly from June through mid-October with the increased humidity making it seem hotter. Puerto Vallarta's rainy season runs from mid-June through mid-October and the wettest months are August and September. Though the Caribbean's hurricane season lasts from June 1 through November 30, Puerto Vallarta is virtually immune from hurricanes. The Bay of Banderas acts as a natural barrier for the area, dragging the storms out to sea, or further up the coast.
